THE BRAND

Our Story

Kory Wäde founder Lorraine Koné, Ivorian - French designer and former  fashion-buyer, started the brand as  the  fulfillment of a long-lasting wish: offering to the world a vision of a modern African esthetic.

The brand offers versatile and sophisticated pieces, inherited from her African heritage, love for prints and graphic approach.

Lorraine inspires herself  from fashionistas in the street of Abidjan or Dakar as well as french fashion magazines as well as natural elements to create and reinvent a modern African fashion accessible to the world.

The name Kory Wäde (pronounced kɒr.iˈ  weɪd) comes from the designer childhood obsession for shells and cowries collection.
The word Wade had a strong west African  consonance and was also synonymous with perseverance.

Convinced that the African fashion of tomorrow has to be inspire the world with its versatility and modernity, Kory Wäde offers modern pieces either entirely made on the African continent or strongly inspired by it.
